Ignis Bellator is a Naruto fanfiction posted on Fanfiction.net, published on 1 August 2007. The story is an example of the Butterfly Effect, showing how miniscule changes can result in catastrophic consequences. It is currently a work in progress, with the twenty-eighth chapter in the works.
Story[]
The plot deviates from Naruto canon on the day Genin teams are to be composed. Instead of Team 7 consisting of Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, the Uchiha is replaced with Hinata Hyuga due to Naruto's fierce resistance to the idea of being placed on the same team as Sasuke. While events play out similarly to canon for a while with seemingly trivial differences, eventually the story begins to seriously deviate. Orochimaru, acting on advice from Kabuto, gives a curse seal to Neji and Hinata in addition to Sasuke. Deciding to leave Konoha earlier than originally planned, he makes it back to Sound in time to secure an alliance with Water Country and Earth Country, convincing them to join him in his war against the Land of Fire.
