Enchanter is a supernatural drama TV series. It focuses on a ordinary boy who finds himself to be the most important thing in all creation, with the discovery of his magical abilities and the supernatural world that hides in the shadows.
Plot[]
The series focuses on Dexter Barrett, a sixteen year old boy who struggles to fit in at school while trying out for the school football team. He is best friends with George Manuel, a conspiracy freak, is bullied by his older brother Tom, has a crush on the popular cheerleader Abigail Simpson, and struggles to find a balance between school and his job at the local pharmacy.
His life forever changes one night when he sees a bright light in the sky and then finds a strange tattoo on his arm. The following day, he finds he has impossible abilities, such as telekinesis and the ability to fly, while also seeing monsters. Entrusting George with his secret, Dexter attempts to understand what happened to him after fighting a demon, which calls him an "enchanter".
During the season, Dexter begins mastering his abilities while using them to combat the many monsters that appear in his school, with George trying to learn as much as he can about Dexter'a abilities. During this time however, he also uses them to succeed in school and become more popular. Eventually, he is approached by a strange woman named Jasmine, who reveals she also has abilities and explains what was happening. Dexter was, like Jasmine, an enchanter, a magical warrior chosen to fight the forces of evil until the day he dies. However, death comes in three ways: Dexter will either be killed by the dark; his power will eventually kill him, due to his power originating from his soul; or his power will drive him towards the dark, which will make the arcanists, a secret society, and other enchanters try to kill him.
She explains that his conspicuous actions have led a rogue enchanter named Damian to appear in his town to kill him and absorb his power. In the resulting battle, his brother is killed by Damian while Damian is killed when Dexter absorbs his power by accident. Despite the fact he committed a serious crime, the arcanists allow him a pass due to his inexperience, but appoint Jasmine as his mentor.
