Dakari is a giant gorilla who appears in The Quest for Beasts episode The Green, which aired on September 21, 1999 as well as making a cameo in the final episode. He is voiced by Frank Welker.
Biography[]
Little is known about Dakari's past. However, it is suggested that he is the last representative of a once widespread species of giant gorillas that was venerated by jungle tribes in Africa as the protectors of the forest and its wildlife. This species eventually began to die off, until only Dakari was the sole survivor. He would later meet Daniel Cypher and his friends and they would fight to protect him from poachers.

Dakari is a giant gorilla, approximately 20 ft (6 m) tall. Despite his fearsome looking appearance, Dakari is a benevolent and kind individual, and fiercely protects the jungle and its inhabitants, sometime risking his life.

The Green
At the start of the episode, when Daniel and his friends try to defend a Pygmy who is being attacked by a leopard, Dakari's roar is heard far away, which frightens off the big cat. When the gang travel to the Pygmy village, T'Kembe, the village leader, and his friend Mbutu show them an effigy of the ape.
Later, Dakari is seen walking through the jungle, unaware that a cryptozoologist Dr. Gerry Morgan and his gang are spying on him. Hoping to capture the ape and have him either exhibited in a zoo or as a museum attraction, he follows him.
